Charlie Sheen has been accused of raping Corey Haim in the mid-1980s in an explosive tabloid report.

The National Enquirer has published a story in which it claims to have spoken to over 100 people as part of an "exhaustive probe" into the Two and a Half Men star's past.

Sheen was 19 during the filming of Lucas, released in 1986, while his co-star Haim was 13.

"Haim told me he had sex with Sheen when they filmed Lucas," Dominick Brascia, a former actor and a friend of Haim told the National Enquirer.

"He told me they smoked pot and had sex. He said they had anal sex. Haim said after it happened Sheen became very cold and rejected him. When Corey wanted to fool around again, Charlie was not interested."

The National Enquirer claims multiple other sources have backed up Brascia's story, including a "longtime Sheen confidant".

Criminal action against the 52-year-old over the accusation is impossible as the statute of limitations has expired.

The tabloid also reports to have been given accounts of the actor abusing other teens on the set of Lucas, although no others are named.

Corey Feldman - who was friends with Haim and alleged an unnamed man sexually abused him during the filming of Lucas - hasn't commented on the Sheen allegations, despite being active on Twitter.

The two Coreys starred in several films together, including The Lost Boys, Dream a Little Dream and License to Drive.

Haim was plagued by drug addiction throughout his later career and died in 2010, aged 38.
